Fascinating how all this is playing out, but I have no idea what it might all mean for book buyers, author, and publishers. Amazon has a lot of power, but so do publishers. The whole e-book deal mystifies me because you can't have a book without editing, designing, marketing, and all the other stuff I am sure that happens behind the scenes, so how can anyone sell it for ten bucks and make money? I wonder if all this won't kill off good publishers, and actually harm the marketplace.
